Sandrail 2.0

Powdercoat and Reassembly

Here's the bare frame on the trailer ready to go to Arizona Powdercoating. Powdercoating is an electrostatically applied powder (hence the name) that is then baked to create a durable and attractive finish.

Before the color was applied I did a few modifications to the frame: relocate battery, radiator, cooler and electrical box; make windshield frame and emergency brake assembly for future street legalization, add mounts for a rear wing, and a few other little things.

These are the suspension pieces. I had these ceramic coated at JET-HOT in Tempe, AZ. Their proprietary coating has a great near-chrome look and doesn't run the risk of hydrogen-embrittlement nor have the cost of chrome plating.
This is the frame back in the garage. The color is a great candy-purple. Now all I have to do is put the whole thing back together again!
This is the JET-HOT coated rear trailing arm.
   More to come!
